Cobweb Place Cards

Cobweb Place Cards

Whether you are having a seated dinner, or a grazing table, name cards are a great way to guide your friends and family to their seat or unfamiliar snacks. I drew these little placecards to complement the lanterns I made in a previous post. Tiny webs hold the info while a built in easel back props them up on the table to stand upright. You can use the Cricut Maker to write your own labels, or just cut out the inserts and write them by hand.

Just like the lanterns, I suggest placing any textured card stock face down. The web cuts are super small, so be gentle when lifting them from the mat. The best way I found to pull them up was to pull the edge up closest to the score of the stand, not the cut of the stand. I would also use a semi worn mat if you have one, they lift far easier than with a fresh one.

Once all of the pieces are cut, take the spider web frame and bend it slightly to lift the corners and slide in the insert card. Use the spiderwebs like you would use photo corners in an album.

This is how the back of the card should appear if you have inserted the title card correctly.

Once the insert is placed, flip it over and lift out the little easel back a little more so it stands on its own. Voila! Now you are ready to place your cards.

Like the lantern, you don’t have to use black paper, can try different color cardstock to match your holiday decor.

As always, save your scraps! We will use the scraps to create a new addition to your Halloween table top next week.
